Simple Sponge cake X Chef Bex

This is one of my favorite cakes to make . I make this cake all the time and it comes out perfectly each time. It’s also super easy and quick to make which is a bonus 😀. Hope you guys like this one 😉

200g self raising flour
200g castle sugar
200g butter (room temperature)
2 tablespoons milk
Zest of 1 lemon(optional)
4 eggs

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C
2. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix on low until you have a smooth batter.
3. Divide mixture between 2 round tins
4. Bake for 25mins
5. Serve with whipped cream , jam and strawberries
6. Enjoy !
