The fabulous Xmas lights, good food, rocking gifts and family gatherings were all worth it…but they did one thing: drain the wallet! Oh yeah, January disease just has a funny way of showing up when we least expect it and as ladies, we involuntarily compromise on the dope look. Excuses are endless here; kids are going back to school, I need rentals and a new car insurance, there’s need for a new bank loan to cover bills…blah blah blah. But, did you look in the mirror long and hard enough to realise that you’re looking like that great aunt who just seems to hug bad luck head-on? This article is definitely meant to remind you that although it’s a new year, it’s time for a new slay!
Starting off the year in the ‘broke league’ can be cumbersome and you might start thinking that you ‘overdid’ the fun and gift sharing. Hold that thought! I’m here to tell you that there’s no need to wallow in the mire and regret all the good times you had over the festive season. Christmas and New Year are seasons to celebrate and January must just be an extension of the happy vibes. Although there are a lot of money-requiring commitments in this month, don’t allow them to water down your feminine side.
Who said you can’t sacrifice a few notes for a hairdo or for feisty nails in Jan? Come on, it’s not wasting money hey but rather, it’ll uplift your spirit and get your groove back. So ring up a few friends, go for a makeover-on-a-budget and just revive the festivity. Keep in mind that February is Valentines month, so no man would want to hang around a woman with claw-like nails or a mop for hair. If your budget is tight, just look the part by spicing up the clothes already in the wardrobe. Expose yourself to new vibes this month end and remember: every day is slay day! Happy New Year readers.
